PAtti JOY Freeman

Executive Director

Patti Joy Freeman is a native of Kennebunk, Maine having moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana as a child. She recently retired from East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office after serving more than 28 years, specializing specifically in Domestic Violence Investigations.    During her service, Patti worked within the Uniform Patrol Division, the General Detectives Division investigating sex crimes, crimes against children and the crimes against the elderly.  Patti started and supervised the Domestic Violence Unit at the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's office, initiating a program that worked cooperatively with multiple agencies in our Parish. 

Patti served as a member of the Iris Domestic Violence Center, Board of Directors for many years and is dedicated to the mission of Iris and its victims.  It is Patti's greatest hope to build upon Iris's already successful program which provides much needed services, support and aid to both the adult and child Survivors of Domestic Violence.
