John J. Price

Executive Director

John J. Price was named Executive Director of Capital Area Family Violence Intervention Center in April, 2017.  Mr. Price was born in Lake Charles and graduated from Jennings High School in 1973.  He attended LSU where he was elected President of the Student Assembly and served on both the Union Governing Board and the Union Program Council.  Mr. Price was Consul for Sigma Chi fraternity and was accepted into Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership fraternity.  Price graduated from LSU in 1978 with a BA degree in communications.  

After graduation, Mr. Price worked for a Fortune 500 company for 3 years before returning to Louisiana to attend LSU law school.  He was the winner of the Robert C. Tullis moot court competition and has been inducted into the LSU Law School Hall of Fame.  

A practicing attorney in Louisiana for 35 years, Price served for 5 years as Assistant Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Baton Rouge under Mayor Kip Holden where he chaired the FIT (FutureBR Implementation Team) and served as a commissioner on the East Baton Rouge Parish Planning and Zoning Commission.  

Price is the former President of the East Baton Rouge Parish Republican Party Executive Committee and served on the Republican State Central Committee.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors for University View Academy, Louisiana’s largest online charter high school and is a member of Mayor Broome’s Women’s Advancement Commission.
