The Capital Area Family Violence Intervention Center (CAFVIC) is proud of our history of partnering with corporations to work together to end domestic violence in the Capital Area, and provide safety and shelter to battered women and children.

The ways corporations can support CAFVIC's mission to end domestic violence:

Employee Volunteerism

Does your company have a corporate volunteer program? Do you encourage your employees to get involved in the community? CAFVIC relies on the support of hundreds of volunteers each year - through group projects and individual volunteers - to make our program thrive.

Group Projects

The shelter serves over 700 women and children a year, there are always improvement projects for corporate volunteer groups, such as painting (interior and exterior), landscaping, cleaning, general shelter improvements and more. (The Volunteer Coordinator meets with the group in advance to have confidentiality agreements signed and to review shelter protocol.)

Individual Volunteers

Work in the shelter – on the crisis line, providing child care, helping maintain the facilities, and more.
Volunteer in the administrative office – have a knack for grant writing, public relations, or administrative support? There are many opportunities for supporting this important work without being on the front lines.
Special event support – from public awareness events to our Annual Women Chefs' Show Off, there are plenty of short-term opportunities for you to get involved.

Matching Gifts

Does your company support its employees and retirees in their personal philanthropic efforts? Many companies will match individual contributions to social service organizations like CAFVIC. Increase your giving power by registering your matching gifts program. Annual Donation

Many companies make annual donations to charities, especially those that their employees are involved in. Encourage your company to support CAFVIC. Annual Women Chefs' Show Off

The Annual Women Chefs' Show Off is CAFVIC's annual fundraiser that raises unrestricted funds to help continue the agency's ability to provide services to the women and children of the Capital Area. Each year, corporations and generous supporters from Capital Area attend this exciting and fun. The event is held every March. United Way Payroll Deduction

CAFVIC is proud to be a United Way Agency. How easy is it? Once you make your designation, that's it, you don't have to think about it again. Even a small amount adds up to a big donation over a whole year. Designate your donation to CAFVIC by filling in our organization code in the appropriate box. United Way, workplace campaigns are kicked off in the fall, so be on the look out for your enrollment materials in August or September.
