CAFVIC Volunteer Advocate Information & Opportunities
Join the CAFVIC Team!
Become an advocate for domestic violence survivors and their children. CAFVIC recognizes the contribution that volunteers make to the success of our agency. With the assistance of dedicated volunteers, we are able to continue our mission of supporting women and their children in their efforts to live violence free. CAFVIC utilizes volunteers in a variety of positions and has created a program that not only meets the needs of our agency, but also is flexible enough to meet the needs of today's volunteer.
The education and training program provides information about domestic violence to interested school, church, and community groups. Training is also available to professionals whose jobs bring them into contact with battered women and/or their abusers. The education and training program develops and implements the training program for volunteers and new staff members approximately four times per year, and provides ongoing support and continuing training for volunteers and staff.
All volunteers with the CAFVIC/Battered Women's Program must complete the 40 hour training program prior to volunteer involvement with the organization. Please read the information on volunteer requirements and the volunteer job descriptions to learn more about the agency's
volunteer expectations. For more information about volunteer opportunities and to receive an application, please contact Summer Swanson, volunteer coordinator at sswanson@stopdv.org or call 225-358-3440 ext. 219.
